Job Description
We are seeking a Senior DevOps / Software Engineer to support and evolve production assets in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment for one of our major financial institutions. This role is hands-on, customer-facing, and requires strong ownership, proactive problem-solving, and modern engineering practices.
Location
This is a hybrid position located within DC. 3 days on-site. Candidates must already live in the DMV area given the extremely quick turnaround rate. Upon selection, a reference will be requested.
Qualifications
- Senior-level experience in DevOps, software, or platform engineering
- Strong hands-on programming in Python, R, and Java, solid SQL skills
- Experience working in AWS-based SaaS environments (Lambda, SageMaker, EMR).
- Strong foundation in object-oriented design and experience across backend and frontend applications,
- Comfort working on Unix/Linux platforms, and familiarity with the Spring Framework.
- Hands-on experience with Git and GitLab, including supporting or leading migrations, and CI/CD practices.
Responsibilities
- Proactively identify issues, prioritizing work, and drive process and engineering improvements, including the team’s transition to GitLab.
- Support and enhance production systems and reporting in customer-critical environments
- Design and implement cloud-based SaaS applications while developing data pipelines and SQL queries
- Work directly with users and stakeholders to translate high-level requirements into production-ready implementations.
